In March of 2019, a subcommittee of the parish finance council and parish pastoral council finalized a draft budget for the restoration of St Anne Church. This was a Master Plan, taking into consideration the interior and exterior needs for repair and restoration. The plan, including budget and sketches, was presented to the parish on July 26, 2019, to overwhelming excitement. Funding in the amount of $4-$5 million was needed if were to pursue the plan in it's entirety. Fundraising was to commence in the Summer of 2020 but was canceled due to the economic impact of the Sars Covid 2 Pandemic.
In the winter of 2022, after an original palster Corbel detached from the wall, it became clear the restoration previously put on hold due to the pandemic was now very much needed for the safety of our community and the preservation of the Historic St Anne Church. In April of 2022, the parish contracted with Veterans Scaffolding and Inspired Ornamental, LLC for the inspection of our ornate plaster ceiling and the onset of needed repair. This work has begun and will span the course of six months at an expense of nearly $500,000. Therefore, the parish councils have agreed it is time to launch the St Anne Campaign to raise $4 million for the Restoration for St Anne Church. This restoration may not include every item from our initial 2019 plan, due to inflation, which has increased costs of materials and labor by 30-40% since 2019.
Please see the slide show below for the recreation of two new Corbels identical to the originals. This small piece of the project had a cost of $10,900 and the result is priceless. We have since moved on to additional repairs and restoration After the slide show please see the details on our "2025 Pledge".
