CASAs act as guardians ad litem to local children who need an advocate in the complex family court system. They obvserve home situations, spend time with children, and speak on their behalf to the court about the child's desires and concerns. In the midst of a vast opioid epidemic cases are constantly pouring in of children who need this support. Volunteers receive all the training they need and have the ability to accept only the cases they feel they can take on.
